Members are invited to include WINGS in their will and/or estate plan through the WINGS Forever program. Anyone interested in learning more about this program may contact Kathy Olson at president@wings-mn.org or Anne Hoyt Taff at anne.taff@spmcf.org.

WHAT is a legacy donation?

A legacy donation supports WINGS grants in perpetuity by naming WINGS as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance, charitable trust, etc.

A specific amount or a percentage of your estate is donated to the WINGS endowment or annual fund.

WHO gives a legacy donation?

WINGS members at all levels give legacy donations. Experience has shown that it is not just wealthy members who donate legacy gifts. WINGS members who have given consistently over several or many years are just as likely to name WINGS as a beneficiary in their estate planning.

WHY do WINGS members give legacy donations?

During your life you support the WINGS mission – effective philanthropy through pooled investments to support women and youth in the Northfield area.         You may wish to continue your commitment to Northfield area women and youth. You can do so through your estate planning. Legacy or planned gifts are just that – planned. You plan to pass on your values and goals in the form of ongoing financial support. Legacy donations to the WINGS endowment or annual fund support your commitment in perpetuity.

HOW do WINGS members give legacy donations?

You may choose to name WINGS as a beneficiary in your retirement plan, life insurance, or investment accounts.

You may consult your lawyer, tax advisor, estate planner, the WINGS treasurer, or a gift planner at the St. Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations, the fiscal agent for WINGS, for more information about a legacy donation to WINGS in your will or trust. There may be tax benefits to you in addition to the continued support for Northfield area women and youth through WINGS grants.

You may wish to give your legacy donation anonymously or be recognized as a WINGS Forever Member. Either way your legacy gift will continue to support Northfield area women and youth for generations to come.
